To help customers build IT infrastructure that delivers continuous services and applications across clouds, on Oct. 18 Microsoft will release Windows Server 2012 R2 and System Center 2012 R2. Together, these new products empower companies to create datacenters without boundaries using Hyper-V for high-scale virtualization; high-performance storage at dramatically lower costs; built-in, software-defined networking; and hybrid business continuity. The new Windows Azure Pack runs on top of Windows Server and System Center, enabling enterprises and service providers to deliver self-service infrastructure and platforms from their datacenters. | ||

Microsoft needs to take care of their on the ground solutions first, not scatter into the cloud. I'm miffed at MSFT at the moment. I hope the information that I received today, when I tried to place a pre-order for Server 2012 R2, that it won't hit the channel until Nov. 13th, is wrong. I have two customer's excited about new client server systems using Server 2012 R2. One of them wants to move all PC's to Windows 8.1 on Samsung 840 Pro SSD's. It would be nice if I can actually deliver in a timely manner.
How come Microsoft can't get their new awesome server OS into the channel by the promised October 18, 2013 delivery date? I have the TechNet bits but can't use them for anything other than testing initial setups. So, the OS should be ready for us on time. It won't be. Stop screwing things up MSFT.
