It never branched out to applications and to take on PDA functions – arguably the Zune HD is a cousin of Windows Phone, which continues to evolve Microsoft’s personal device range – but it was a piece of hardware that delivered more than it promised. | I am not sure if Microsoft should get into this market. They shouldnt be all things to all people. |

| I think it will be closer to the XBox than the Zune if it has the apps. The release candidate has some really neat apps but nowhere near what it needs to win over the masses. One key thing I really miss when using the iPAD after using a Windows 8 tablet is the easy task switching. I find myself swiping within apps for navigation to other apps on the iPAd and nothing happens – then I remember “Oh, this is a really simplistic interface with no advanced navigation”. |

| It is already public that Microsoft is dropping the Zune brand in Windows 8, so I vote XBox. Maybe an XBox companion device. |
