Apple is now bigger than Microsoft, its old rival. Not just in market capitalisation but also in quarterly revenue and profits. Like it or not, that pretty much sums it up. Jobs didn't invent the process, but he sure as hell knew how to implement it in a masterful way.
Actually, maybe he did invent it. I've never really seen another company quite like Apple. |

Apple/Jobs know how create and market the "cool", MS can't seem to do it. The create things like "Surface" and "Kinect" and just let fade away.
The best thing they did with Kinect was let people modify it. I did notice today Apple's growth was mainly iPads, iPhones and iOS, very little in Macs. |

Apple succeeded by first embracing music and pioneering the iTunes 99 cent song. Once they came out with the iPhone and ported that interface to the iPOD/iPAD it was game over.
MS is embarking on a similar strategy with video content. Its upcoming XBOX dashboard upgrade should prove interesting as it integrates BING voice searches with your content providers. I’m hoping you can say something like XBOX>>BING>>Battlestar Galactica and it will search your Cable provider, Netflix, Hulu, etc. all from one screen and provide a screen of available content regardless of the provider - HULU – Galactica 1980 NETFLIX – Battlestar Galactica (2004) Your PC – Battlestar Galactica Razor Zune – Battlestar Galactica 1979 $4.99 Comcast - Battlestar Galactica (2004 Pilot) This post was edited by rxcall on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 12:02. |
