For the first time, Steve Ballmer took a public swing at critics who say he should step down as Microsoft chief executive. “You tell me if I lack energy, conviction or we’re not driving all the change we need to drive,” Ballmer shouted after a lunch attendee asked his reaction to an investor’s call for his resignation. | ||

One problem is that Ballmer thinks his anger "energy" leads to innovation, and not fear within MS and lack of confidence in those outside of MS. How loud he "shouted" at the person asking a simple question that he should have had a canned response for would be great to know. Ballmer still comes across as a man that mentally cracked, to some extent, years ago and a tyrant that would crush, or does crush, anyone that questions his omnipotent "vision", regard less of how often the vision changes. | Nobody gives a damn about how much energy, conviction and spittle Ballmer brings to the table. It's a results-focused position. Their stock has been flat forever and they've lost whatever mojo they had for innovation. They need a man of action, and not just a guy that yells and jumps around. |
