Not surprisingly, Microsoft chief executive Steve Ballmer will be returning to the Consumer Electronics Show next year, opening the show with a January 5 keynote, the Consumer Electronics Association confirmed Thursday.
"As leader of one of the world's most innovative technology companies, a keynote address from Steve Ballmer is the perfect way to kick off the 2011 International CES," Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of CEA, said in a statement. "Microsoft's entrepreneurial spirit and drive have been major forces behind the success of the company and its impact on the global consumer technology industry. We look forward to hearing Steve's strategic vision for the future of Microsoft and our industry."
The 2011 CES will take place from Jan. 6-9 in Las Vegas. Ballmer's presentation will be held at 6:30pm at the Las Vegas Hilton Center. Additional keynote speakers have not yet been announced.
