Testimony this week from one of Microsoft's top executives has shed light on the software giant's shifting Web services plans and internal power struggles over competing ideas. During cross-examination of his testimony Tuesday, Jim Allchin, Microsoft's senior vice president for Windows, reiterated that the company's .Net My Services plan is still very much in flux, a situation that was previously reported by CNET News.com. The .Net My Services plan is "in a little bit of disarray, Allchin said, according to a transcript of the testimony. "We basically aren't working on it the same way as we were in the past." | ||

Sigh... people still don't understand .NET. I guess that's Microsoft's fault as much as anybody's. Oh well. |

I seriously doubt you understand .net in the last comment you stated. .net my services had serious issues (internally at MS) before it was even released. But the underlying .net framework is here to stay. and offers new scope to the windows platform as a whole. With the release of VS.net being only the beginning. As the framework is bound to the OS and eventually become the New windows API. windows will become a more hadware agnostic OS. el |

A perfect example of how Microsoft's freedom to innovate was hindered by the States' trial. Now MS is afraid to embark on new technology launches because everything they do will be considered monopolistic or bullying.
