commentary Boy Genius Report has posted screenshots of the new Microsoft Office 11 for Mac, suggesting that it looks "absolutely delicious."
Do you care?
I don't mean that in any anti-Microsoft fashion. I'm just asking, "Do you still care about an office productivity suite?" I mean, in the traditional sense of that product category?

From the author: "Office is too slow--or, rather, how we communicate with it is. It's a wonderful product for its day and age, but that time appears to be fading." This is one of the most un-scientific articles about the future of Office in a sea of boneheaded articles about Office. Apparently, there isn't enough real news to report. So, prophecy about the demise of MS office abounds. MS Office is more relevant today than ever, in both home and office. I predict that Office 2010 will be one of the fastest selling versions ever as Windows 7 users look to upgrade to the best version ever of Office. Windows XP users will remain happy with Office XP or 2003 or whatever they have until they also can upgrade their OS and software. I look forward to Office 2010 being released and have told my customers to also do so. It'll be worth it.

how about the FACT that Office is more of a "platform" today than ever and extensions to and from it exist into and out of not one "cloud" but as many as one would want whenever they want.
This sort of thing is so preposterously bad and so out of touch that it is worse than tone deaf and proves that these guys have no clue whatever.

Office has always looked and operated better on the Mac than the PC.
And no, we'll have no discussions about Microsoft Word 6/Mac. Please :)
And praise doggies, Apple has established Interface Guidelines. Hopefully this will keep that dreadful, productivity killing, totally unnecessary Office Ribbon system away. I hope.
I'm probably wrong :(
