"A PC is no bargain when it doesn't do what you want .... The one thing that both Apple and Microsoft can agree on is that everyone thinks the Mac is cool. With its great designs and advanced software, nothing matches it at any price."

Mac's are the SUV of computing, nothing more than a status symbol.

Apple has never crafted a computer "for" a person - where the computer is specifically designed and crafted for an individual. Yet they go on about themselves like they have a lock on quality and great 'experiences'
It just isn't so - not even a little bit.

Didn't they mean "nothing matches its price"?
Or "So little computer for so much money".

Funny thing, my laptop running Vista Ultimate does exactly what I want. It runs Photoshop CS4, Office 2007, allows me to create DVD's, manage my iTunes (yeah...I have an iPod Touch and Shuffle) and lots of other stuff.
Apple makes some excellent products. However, if you want to run OSX, you're limited to buying a laptop or desktop from Apple. And there really isn't that big of a selection. With Windows, you have multiple manufacturers (some good, some not), and multiple ways to configure a laptop or desktop to your liking. And if you feel so led, you can build your own desktop.

It's funny watching you guys bitch & moan about Apple. Who cares? If it doesn't affect you, ignore it.

#6 I like making fun of overpriced products that are supposedly cool ... but really are not. But, if this thread doesn't affect you, ignore it and shut up.

#7: This thread does affect me in that I like making fun of overstuffed Microbots that think they're cool ... but really are not.

#8 I knew you couldn't shut up.
Since when did anyone suggest using a type of software or hardware makes one cool? Faster is good. Faster for less money is good. Coolness? Not something I think about or associate with computers. They are tools. Just like you are a tool.

#9: You're just jealous that other guys have nicer tools than your own. When the girls see an Apple-owner's tool, they think it looks nice and they are curious to try it. When they see your tool, it's boring and probably doesn't scale well.
(everyone else, feel free to add your own puns...)

#13: Yes I know, Captain Obvious. Way to ruin a gag by explaining it. See, I don't just come here for the MS-bashing. It's the comedy relief that keeps me coming back.

Can you guys give it a rest - I don't want to start nullifying comments but if the bickering continues i'll have to - and thats to both sides of the fence. When I read these comments you really do feel as if you are listening in to a school playground.

I got a MacBook Pro just because of the hardware and battery life... even if you're not using OS X, it's worth it. I run Linux on it and it's great.
