Microsoft issues mammoth security update, biggest in five years | |

Microsoft Corp. today patched 28 vulnerabilities, nearly all of them marked "critical," in the biggest batch of fixes it has issued since it switched to a regular monthly update schedule more than five years ago.

If you were, you'd know that you'd had access to them already and you'd know your baseline so well that patching for it was not nearly as big a deal as some make it sound.
Similarly, you'd push it easily and just as easily roll it back should that be required. Managing Windows PC's is so easy and efficient that when done right, you get bored - and then you learn to focus on how to get the most out of a company's data and shape it as information products people can use to make decisions with great and expected busines outcomes. Thousdands of engineers do this everyday and good partners make this sort of thing not only possible, but a reality of tens of thousands of small and medium businesses. It all starts with a baseline that one works to and from - which is why I continue to scratch my head when I hear of all the fuss and muss around Vista and other Windows clients. Succeeding is not alchemy... it's "normal" and "expected" - just as it should be. |
