Live Mesh, the syncing mediator for devices, data, and applications, remains very much a work-in-progress. Slowly but surely, it's becoming a product, though, and a recent news tidbit seems to confirm that. Blockbuster, the video rental chain that is slowly realizing the Internet is the future and that it needs to fight back against Netflix online, has decided that it will use Microsoft's Live Mesh platform to deliver streaming video to both computers and mobile devices. | ||

With Comcast and Co. putting cap on downloads seems a great idea. (Sarcasm)
Furthermore Cable companies offer, for a fee of course, "Movie on demand"; I do not see them happily jeopardize a source of revenues allowing these kind of services. Besides where do they think to be? Tokyo where you can get up to 1GB connection? I am not sure what is the exact, official reason but in Miami, FL Verizon cannot deploy FIOS so I am stacked with AT&T 6MB DSL. Finally I am not even touching the price issue... |

| Odd...where I live, 2 companies here finally just removed their monthly caps and made it unlimited due to the competition. I see it going the other way. |

| It's screwed up all over. I just upgraded my home cable service to their highest consumer tier which gives me a whopping 95 GB bandwidth per month. Then I hear about Comcast in the US offering all their users 250 GB/month. I'm paying extra to get less than half of what Comcast users get for their normal price. I won't be streaming anything until the caps go way up or away completely. |

| I'm in the test market for Comcast's DOCSIS 3.0 upgrade. 50 MB up/10 MB down for $190/month, no caps. Lucky to get many sites that can push that, but anyhow. |

#4: Nice but really overpriced; my brother in Europe has 50MB download/ 8 or 10 upload, phone line with local calls free, answering machine, caller ID etc. for €35/month ($45/47).
No cap of course (-: |

| Yes... it's a bit steep, although far cheaper than anything else in the area for that amount of bandwidth. I think on the consumer/capped side, it runs $140 or something. I certainly would prefer to spend $45/month. :P |
