The Initial Configuration Task center provides a quick overview of how your server is setup and its current status. Broken down into three categories, each provides options for setting time zone, configuring your network, updating the server and adding additional roles. It’s a cleaner more simplified design that I consider to be actually usable compared to ‘Manage Your Server’, in Server 2003. | ||

For AD setup they missed two of the most obvious changes since 2003.
1) You can now specify a domain controller as a global catalog within dcpromo GUI and not have to go to AD Sites & Services afterwards. 2) You can now save an answer file, then run dcpromo with the file in unattended mode on other machines so ensure identical configurations. |

The mechanics of most comon tasks already was easy with WS2K3. |
