Nearly three weeks after security vendor Symantec Corp. released a free tool to clean up PCs crippled by the Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) update, Microsoft Corp. issued a fix that should reestablish lost Internet and wireless connections.

| So is it safe to install SP3 if you have an AMD processor or do you have to download the fix before you install SP3 incase it "fixes" your Internet for you? |

I'm getting failed install attempts when I try to install the .net framework 2after installing XP SP3 (with all installations being done with Windows Update). Seems consistent on one batch of workstations from my preferred manufacturer; I haven't determined if the problem scope is wider yet.
