Ed Bott: Last month, I kicked off the Windows 7 release date prediction pool with my analysis on why I think Windows 7 will be released in time for the holiday buying season in 2009, picking July 29, 2009 as my entry. At the same time, I invited readers to add their guesses in the TalkBack section. This morning, I went back and tallied the vote so far. The rules were pretty simple: Enter the complete date – day, month, and year – when you believe Microsoft will officially issue its press release announcing the release to manufacturing of Windows 7. | ||

Hey Larry, why don't you bellyache a little more about ultimate extras - I hear MS will be giving away Windows 7 ultimate with ultimate extras for the biggest crybaby.

Windows 7 should have only three versions: Home, Business and Ultimate which should includes everything that is in the other two editions.
Software and hardware labelled "Windows 7 ready" should also clearly distinguish between "Windows 7 32bit ready" and " Windows 7 64bit ready". This would force companies to write decent drivers. |

I don't see why MS is rushing to market with this thing. Also I don't know why they are even talking about this, this is the same crap that killed vista.
they should take as long as it takes to deliver a quality product. From what I am reading I am getting the sense of a "rushed product", which only leads consumer relations nightmares. they would have been better served to issue a "no comment" until the end of 2008 or mid 2009. who ever is running MS marketing/media/customer relations is doing a horrible job. |
