Stocks clawed higher in early morning trading on Friday as investors took a more positive view of the latest results from software giant Microsoft Corp. and eyed the latest earnings reports from the tech sector. Microsoft sent a shudder through global stock markets with a cautious outlook and soft revenues late on Thursday, but its upbeat comments about the personal computer business and an upgrade of its shares by a major Wall Street investment house helped ease investors' fears, analysts said. | ||

| RMD, boy, the NASDAQ is down, and I'm looking at my tech stock watch list (nearly 200 companies from many sectors) and it's a pretty mixed bag, leaning more heavily into the red. Could it be that someone wrote a lame financial piece trying to fluff up the market? Hmm, that never happens. |

Ya, Sodajerk... you must be right. Reuters is often in the habit of making up stories to help companies they have nothing to do with. That $1.13 that MS stock rise must have some how happened *after* the story was published, yet was still *caused* by it. Good point.
