Surprise! If you were among the 15,000 chosen testers who got the Vista Service Pack (SP) 1 Release Candidate (RC) 1 Refresh 2 test build in late January, you already have the final SP1 bits. Microsoft changed the version number on the code, but the bits are exactly the same, company officials acknowledged on February 7. I asked Microsoft last week whether the Refresh 2 build was the release to manufacturing (RTM) build and company officials said, point-blank, it was not. So why admit it now? | ||

Already have it as well, got it off Newsgroups yesterday and it's the full 6001.1800 or whatever the final number is, only problem is it blows up the mmc.exe with an appcrash when you try hitting properties on and FTP site. So if you want to see who or what is connected to your FTP site forget it once the properties is hit you get do you want to go to Microsoft for the problem or do you want to close application.
Figures, I had an issue with the mmc in Windows XP since day one and no matter what service pack, it never fixed it either when stopping and starting an FTP site when someone was connected and even if you disconnected them first, it always blew up. She's wrong about the version number... 6001.18000 is what the latest RC was, and it's what the RTM is.
Kind of refreshing that the last release candidate actually became what was released -- finally an RC lives up to its name. |

| #3 - It sounds like you have something else conflicting with MMC or a corrupted installation. I suggest you recheck everything you have installed on your PC because this method of managing FTP sites, was thoroughly tested during the beta testing (myself along with many others). |
