A Chinese website posted screenshots reported to be the early Milestone 1 build of the next client version of Windows codenamed '7'. The screenshots are almost identical to Windows Vista with minor changes such as the About Dialog displaying 'Windows 7 Ultimate' SKU, integrated XPS Viewer, PowerShell, new Control Panel layout, Gadgets integrated into the Explorer and new Control Panel layout. | ||

Fake or no fake, a Windows 7 alpha should look like a lot like Vista at this time. Longhorn's alpha desktop's looked a lot more like XP than Vista does now. I have experience in the IT field. I saw this. It doesn't mean anything.
5.0 = Windows 2000 5.1 = Windows XP 5.2 = Windows Server 2003 6.0 = Windows Vista 6.1 is clearly a later version than any of these. |
