What is going to be in "Cougar?" | |

There have been a few questions floating around about "Cougar," the next version of Windows Small Business Server, and what it will include and be based on. I thought I would post some of the information that is publicly available to help address some of these questions:
I saw the "Is Cougar 64-bit only?" question come up earlier today, so I wanted to be sure to call that one out. Ever since we announced Exchange Server 2007 would be 64-bit only and that Cougar would include Exchange Server 2007, that was a pretty clear indicator of what the answer to the 64-bit question would be. | ||

SBS 2003 code was Bobcat, was not it?
Also it will be interesting to see what MS plans are for those for companies that bought SBS 2003 Premium + Software Assurance; my understanding is that ISA will be stripped from the suite so SA users will receive less than what they paid upfront and kept paying after, every time they renewed SA. Maybe they could offer another Premium Edition reintegrating phone capabilities in the package; SBS 2000 had them but they were not available in SBS 2003. |

| My understanding is that ISA 2008 (yes 2008 not 2006) will be an optional "extra" like it currently is with SBS 2003. |
