Google has announced a $625 million acquisition of Postini, a major provider of corporate communications security and spam filtering services. Postini will become a wholly-owned Google subsidiary when the deal closes at the end of the third quarter.

#1, Agreed. KB, or Knowledge Management and controlling IP leak-down are important and often negelected missions within companies. It is too easy to implement rights management solutions that work for people to continue to overlook such capabilities.

Gotta give google some credit here. Their acquisitions of the past week (GrandCentral and Postini) are quality moves.
