Microsoft Windows XP Beta 2 Available! | |

Microsoft finalized Windows XP Beta 2 on Friday, declaring build 2462a as the release. The company then posted Beta 2 for download by beta testers Sunday at noon PST (a little bit later than expected!), while the Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) will ship Beta 2 on Monday. Beta 2 will be the final beta release for Windows XP, which is largely considered "feature complete" at this point. Moving forward, the company will focus on fit and finish issues, bug fixes, and other small improvements as it moves to release Windows XP in time for holiday sales. | ||

(downloads are only for registered beta testers) Holiday season?!?! I thought it was supposed to be out by June/July?? Also, why no Beta 3? With previous software, MS usually ships a Beta 3 which is still a high quality product and is good enough to ship to customers on a trial-basis (Win98, Win2K, WinME, SQL Server 7, SQL 2k, Exchange 2K, etc) -d |

| Due to go RTM in June (assuming RC1 makes it early/mid May) I believe and released in stores sometime in September. |
