Novell Offered to Help Microsoft | |

Novell, one of the companies that helped the Justice Department (news - web sites) make its antitrust case against Microsoft, offered to speak to government officials on Microsoft's behalf if it agreed to make Novell's software work better with Microsoft products, according to documents and testimony presented in court Thursday. In a February 2000 meeting, as settlement negotiations between Microsoft and the government dragged on, Novell Chief Technology Officer Carl Ledbetter wrote that Novell and Microsoft officials would meet "to discuss how Novell could help Microsoft in its current legal discussions." | ||
