While analysts, bloggers and reporters will debate different strategies in operating systems (Leopard vs. Vista), entertainment (iTV vs. Home Server, Media Center and Windows Live), digital media (iLife vs. Windows Ultimate Extras and Windows Live), music (iPod vs. Zune) or mobiles (iPhone vs. Windows Mobile), I will focus on the men's personalities and the companies' different approaches to the events. The contrasts in style and substance will be important in making sense out of the companies' announcements. | ||

Couple of interesting points.... the source, "Microsoft Watch" seems to have attracted more Apple/MAC fans than users of Microsoft software - and another... the story is largely true and an accurate assessment. I can recall Steve Jobs announcing CDR burning on the MAC - and stated is as if it had never before been seen on any platform... it was kind of sad, considering that Philips had it on the PC for nearly two preceeding years.
More than at any previous CES, Microsoft focused on what they are doing right now and what will come throughout 2007 - seems like so many partners were waiting on Vista as the platform's central point of foucs to tie all the new stuff back to. The flood of significant new products and features being posted on Awin reflects this. |

| joe wilcox confuses me. he's a reporter at cnet (supposedly no opinion, just facts), then an independent analyst (opinions 24/7 at JupiterResearch), and now some combination (still an analyst at JupiterResearch... but also has a blog/journalism job at eweek)? |
