I have updated the Halo review with PAL information for UK users thanks to receiving the new UK Xbox releases last week. Here is a snip:
Those wondering how the game fares on those European PAL systems will be pleased to hear that the game includes an excellent conversion with no noticeable slowdown compared to the NTSC version and the game also has support for PAL 60 assuming you have selected this option in your Xbox's dashboard.

Ok, I think I'm going to buy an XBox so I can play Halo.
Well and DVDs and music. Need a second source for my old stereo I put in the back bedroom. :)

Frame rate is actually worse on the Xbox than on the PS2 - and there is NO improvement in graphics

Yeah, I'd like to hear an answer on that, 203.111.1.70 considering Carmack refuses to touch DirectX. I see it posted here as well. But how is id coding this, they build everything around their own engine which uses OpenGL? Has id started to use DirectX and I missed it? Or did they go to some other company to do the porting?

Okay, so can we start a campaign to remove all titles, that Microsoft WISHES were coming to the Xbox but is NEVER going to get, from ActiveXBox because I'm sick of seeing this vaporware to attract people to the XBox.

stu, I care because as far as I'm concerned this is vapor... especially for 2 games that can get people to buy the Box just for the one title. I care whenever people could be getting screwed. I don't care about better games, I care about lies about THESE games.
I'm not pissed about Microsoft's success: I'm pissed about Microsoft's lies, I'm pissed when other people spread the lies for them. This is always the case, stu; after all, I do spend half my day inside Microsoft apps, and I still see their value, but can hate the products or the company.
This is something that should be pretty clear since John Carmack frequently expresses his distaste for DirectX. I just want it cleared up: are Quake or Doom or anything besides Wolfenstein coming to the Box? If no, I think this site should be upright and honest and remove Doom III from the coming soon section. That's a pretty simple concern, stu.

Right, AlmostFamous, I didn't want to mention that to stu, but I'm of the mind that it will take about 3 years to evaluate the success or failure of the XBox. From what I'm hearing, Japan is not going well--big drop off, that may or may not be attributable to the scratching thing. But if the trend continues this way, they are dead in the water in Japan. But, again, I'm willing to give MS 2-3 years to get their crap together in Japan.

sodajerk... Carmack himself announced Doom III for the XBox at Quakecon last year.
"I'm not pissed about Microsoft's success: I'm pissed about Microsoft's lies, I'm pissed when other people spread the lies for them."
Maybe you should start by focusing upon yourself, since it is completely within your realm of control to stop lying.

#30 - no it doesn't - it is 4:3 and gets stretched for Widescreen.

#29 - He said Genesis. The Dreamcast was a complete failure in the US market, which explains Sega's problems.

stu, I never said I knew one way or the other. In fact, it was YOU who told me that Doom III wasn't coming. So do we have to admit all our mistakes now? Do you have any apologies for us? There are more interesting topics to post on or read at this point. Jesus, you are pathetic.

So I guess the point is I shouldn't believe what you say, right? Because my comments after that were based on agreeing with you. Once my question was resolved, I had no issue with this discussion.
