For me one major thing missing in Windows Vista was the ability to use Nero, since yesterday Nero announced that the newest Nero 7 update will work with windows Vista Having rapidly addressed the latest developmental changes to Microsoft's highly-anticipated new operating system through the RC1 and RC2 phases, Nero now offers its Windows Vista-ready software to consumers online at www.nero.com. Current Nero 7 customers will also be able to download this version free of charge at the company's website. | ||

| It's not Vista ready as they claim. In the news they talk about streaming to an xbox 360. Nero Scout is needed for that and it doesn't work. Try saving settings in Nero Scout tjs.. It doesn't work. |

Gez, I have been using nero 6 all thru the builds of Vista and i have not had any problems. I am waiting to upgrade to nero 7.

| #4, you might try running Scout as Admin to get the settings to save. It's probably trying to save to it's installation directory in Program Files or some other protected location, and native 64-bit apps don't get writes to such locations virtualized. |

I haven't tried it on RTM, but like belto, Nero 6 has worked for me throughout the beta.
There may still be a discount for v6 users to upgrade to v7 if desired. If not, there are also alternatives like http://www.imgburn.com/ |

I couldn't get a OEM copy of Nero 6 that came with my cd-rom drive to work on pre-relase Vista.
When I surfed the web for answers this seemed like a fairly common problem. |

ImgBurn Rocks - light, fast and so far, 100% reliable on Vista RC1/RC2/RTM.
Nero 7 works fine, too [on RTM - no experience on earlier builds]. |
