Microsoft Windows Vista goes on sale at Amazon | |

Internet retailer Amazon.com Inc. has started taking early orders for Microsoft Corp.'s long-delayed Windows Vista operating system, offering versions of the product from $100 to $399. The retailer's Web site said the software will be available on January 30, and an Amazon spokesman said on Tuesday the date was an estimate based on informal conversations with Microsoft and others in the computer industry. Microsoft spokesman Lou Gellos declined to comment on Amazon's pre-sale, saying the software maker is still finalizing its pricing model. It has not set a release date for the new version of Windows, which sits on more than 90 percent of the world's personal computers. | ||

You know that you can buy one version of Vista and if you get bored with it you can upgrade via the internet. You simply hit the link provided and then you selct what version you wish to upgrade to and then you pay. If all goes as planned you will get a email from M$ telling you that can upgrade with this new SKU and you put it in and you are finished. I think that you can choose to get the new SKU via snail mail if you do not trust the internet but mind you, your old SKU will be invalidated and it the new SKU will only work on the PC that you upgraded from.
I did not take part in this BETA because I am on Vista Ultimate so I cannot upgrade any further unless I get the Corporate Version. Belto... |

| #1, what "Corporate Version" are you referring to? The Enterprise edition? Enterprise is actually a step down from Ultimate -- a subset of Ultimate. I don't think there's anything in Enterprise that isn't in Ultimate, whereas there are things in Ultimate not in Enterprise. |
