Microsoft has released twelve security bulletins that cover a total of 21 security holes in its Windows, Exchange and Office. Eight of the security bulletins cover issues that are rated 'critical'. The moniker indicates that an attacker could exploit the flaws to take over control of a system without the user's knowledge, but that there are mitigating factors. | ||

Yeah - this group was a bit bumpy..... more than one server failed to boot and one required a specialized hot fix. All in all it was pretty consistent with tests, so we knew what to do in case of failures, but it was not entirely clean.
Could it have been...? I don't know - I do know that some of the updates were pretty deep - especially SP1 for WSUS. Client side was better, but a relatively long process to get them all done by first light - even with WSUS. I wish a lot more information was available - but I do understand why it is not a more transparent process. |
