Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.3 has been released. This update fixes a publicly disclosed denial of service weakness. All users are encouraged to upgrade to this version. The bugfixes previously planned for Firefox 1.5.0.3 were shifted to 1.5.0.4, and a quick update was released shortly after the recent 1.5.0.2 release to address the publicly reported issue. | ||

#1: Yeah, only about a million more holes to go before they catch up to IE.
#2: I notice you're not talking about the holes in IE that definately give up your system, as compared to the Firefox hole that might maybe perhaps possibly do the same. At least Mozilla issued a patch to fix it without having to wait for weeks/months for some arbitrary official patch day. Has MS yet issued a patch for the 2 own-your-box holes from the past 2 weeks? I didn't think so. Not that I care, other than to laugh at you MS sycophants trying to spin yourselves sick defending MS & IE when everyone in the world know what dogs they are. |

55% of the Firefox using visitors to my website are using Firefox 1.5.0.1 or earlier (looking at the logs from the last week).
I could compromise the PC's of all of them. Every 4.4 days there is another batch of legacy Firefox users who are vulnerable. Its not how quick vulnerabilities are patched. Its how many unpatched machines are out there that can be compromised. And thats a problem for both IE and Firefox. While I do run IE7 b2, I also run it as a unprivledged user using the sysinternals psexec technique. |
