Microsoft Corp. will pay $70 million to thousands of California government agencies in the latest legal settlement spurred by price-gouging allegations against the world's largest computer software maker. The proposed truce covers a wide range of taxpayer-backed agencies -- from local school districts to regional transportation systems -- that bought Microsoft products dating back to 1995. | ||

What a moron you are Latch. Nobody is forcing you to buy Windows either. #5 The nice thing about XP Pro, for example, is 10 years of support. No Linux gives you that. Most give you 12 - 18 months of support even if you pay 2500$ to RedHat. After that you need to upgrade if you want updates and patches. For most companies that works out to a couple of dollars month if you bought XP Pro at release date and keep it for 10 years. 4$ a month if you keep it for 5 years. A bargain. |
