Large businesses will get the first crack at upgrading to Microsoft's new Windows Vista operating system. But chances are that they'll still be the last to widely adopt it. Microsoft on March 21 said it would delay the general release of Windows Vista, which had been expected to come out this fall, to January. The company chalked this decision up to caution about not wanting to affect PC makers' fourth-quarter consumer PC business with a possible missed ship date. | ||

| Clever of MS to "release" Vist to Corporate Volume customers in November since most, if not all, will wait until months of final testing is completed to actually push Vista images onto the biz PCs. |

| If I where Microsoft I'd actually want to release Vista into the home user market first. Companies will always be the last to migrate to a new OS while home users are much more eager to adopt something new. Releasing it for home use first would serve as a nice "extended beta period" to give companies and company users more experience with the new product. |
