Microsoft may have inherited the Spynet community, but they don't fully listen to and act on customers suggestions like Giant did, and like Giant would have of they hadn't bailed. One glaring example is that LogMeIn is still listed as spyware, even though MS has been contacted by many people, including the LogMeIn folks, to have this action corrected. Apparently, MS needs to witness a public outcry about any given issue before they fix product bugs.
It's a beta product and it's free. Still, the LogMeIn issue, which is quite old by now, is indicative of just how slow MS reacts to feedback they claim they will use, if they react at all these days. |

Some of our staff uses Dameware. It gets flagged as Spyware, because it can be used as such. I think Microsoft has a responsibility to flag software with dual use/abuse possibilities.
There is now an "Allowed Items" section. Add LogMeIn to that section. See what happens. This post was edited by NotParker on Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at 14:02. |

| NotParker: I did what you suggested prior to the post above. My point was that LogMeIn has been reported to MS many times as not-spyware. MS has not responded accordingly in WD. |

Most remote control software can be abused and used as spyware if it is installed secretly.
Microsoft has a duty to let you know its there. |
