The Microsoft Internet Explorer development team has just released a new English beta build 1330 of Internet Explorer 6.0 Service Pack 1, that is strictly reserved to the lucky Microsoft beta-testers. As the first beta of the service pack had hardly any new features, we will guess that the beta 2 release hasn't added thing special apart from bug fixes either. | ||

| That's nothing compared to the Explorer problem where Detailed view keeps changing to Icon view at random moments. Hate that with a passion. |

| #8, that's definitely a good tip to reduce the problem, but it doesn't totally eliminate it for me. I tried it out a couple weeks ago, and still have it set that way (not minding too much the inconvenience of folders not remembering sorts), but I sure wish it would work right set the other way (I can't understand what compels the system to turn on random icon view, since I've never turned it on myself for the system to "remember" it in the first place). |

I'll tell you another Explorer annoyance. Only seems to do it on IE5 & 6 on Windows 98(basically when you've got active desktop installed, haven't verified with IE4) but when you delete lots of files (lets say 1000, and people who build CDs will know what I'm talking about) at once using an explorer window, Explorer will lock up for a few mins. Afterwards, any deleting or changing-file-name operation locks up explorer again. Seeing as the explorer thread also controls the desktop, that locks up also. IE may lock up when you click on a link.
This DOESN'T happen when using a DOS prompt within Windows. |
