Entrepreneur Ken Bellanger is certain he has a strong case against Microsoft
for trademark infringement, but a conventional lawsuit would never stand a chance
against the software giant's cache of high-paid lawyers. So Bellanger is taking
his beef to a place made for little guys — small claims court. Claiming that Microsoft
Corp. illegally latched on to the name ``Pocket PC'' for its handheld computer operating
system, Bellanger paid $20 last week to file a small claims complaint against the
Redmond, Wash.-based company. The dispute is scheduled to be heard Feb. 22 before a small claims commissioner
in San Francisco. With the case, Bellanger hopes to win the maximum $5,000 award
allowed in California's small claims courts and establish his legal right to the
Web address pocketpc.com, a site that Microsoft launched two years ago. | ||

In ancient Greece if you sued your neighbor and failed to convince at least part of the jury that your argument was sound, you were fined heavily.
This helped to reduce the number of frivolous lawsuits. I've often felt we need the same thing in the states because then people would stop using the courts as a lottery ticket system. |

Yes, that last comment was directed at you #12. Also you say you've "Been doin everything I can to remove any Ms product from my puter ( s )..."
Here's a hint, buy an iMac. buy a Sun workstation, buy an IBM with OS/2 (if you can find one), buy a PC with Linux. Regarding the article. I find it hard to believe that this fellow was unaware the Microsoft had pocketpc.com and that they had a product called PocketPC. If he wanted to do something about it, he should have done it quite a while ago. If he wanted the domain, why didn't he register it himself before Microsoft came along? |

It appears to me that #12 more than any other poster here would benefit greatly from the grammar and spell checking capabilities of Microsoft Word. :)

last nite i was watching some documentary on harley davidson, it said for there newest motorcycle it took literally 1 year to find the name, which became tr400 or something. They said once they found a good name, it turned out someone in japan making toilet paper was using the same name. So im sure microsoft did there homework too. If they missed this guy, it was probably because he doesnt own a trademark on it. The guy looks like a real loser.

| Even if he DOES hold a trademark, these things are NOT in the same industry.... this guy has a stupid blue poker chip inside a box, MS has an actual PC that fits in the pocket.... this guy's thing isn't even a computer of ANY sort, so he has no right to that name in the PC market. |
