AOL's "Alerts" resembles .Net's beginnings | |

The introduction of AOL Alerts highlights the ongoing turf battle between AOL Time Warner's online division and software goliath Microsoft. In October, Microsoft introduced .Net Alerts, the first in a series of services tied to its .Net strategy. Microsoft has touted .Net as the way to move software sales online, using subscriptions rather than shrink-wrapped packages. But AOL spokeswoman Kathie Brockman denied the company is following in Microsoft's footsteps. She said the service is an evolution of "AOL Anywhere," the company's long-promoted attempt to offer interactive services outside the PC. | ||

The article says even though it isn't in the list, AOL Time Warner would probably be around #40. Microsoft is #79. Good Point Ghost |

#3, actually, with pigments, (ie, paint), adding all the colors together makes black.
With light, adding all the primary colors together makes white. |

Uhh, well instant messenger alerts aren't new. Had these back in '92 or so with Zephyr. But it's MSN messenger is certainly easier to use than ye old zephyrgram.

| #6, yes, but read the post carefully, the person said paint, paint is a pigment, and therefore is the subtractive color theory. |
