It's pathetic that XP didn't ship with this. Microsoft is SO far behind on this technology, and there's no excuse for it.

| Actually #2 I believe there were USB 2.0 compliant hardware out when XP went RTM - such as the Predator CD-R etc. |

Features are locked down many months before RTM, in the Release Candidate stage. At that time USB 2.0 hardware was mature enough to support, so the feature was dropped from the release.
But prior to RTM there was beta support for USB 2.0 available off the Microsoft website. So I don't see how TechLarry can claim MS is so far behind, because they are at the same point as all other vendors in terms of support. |

| Funny that Microsoft has been attacked for supporting Universal Plug and Play in Windows XP, but they are also attacked for not supporting USB 2.0 in Windows XP. |
