Google Inc. has made an "adjustment" to its Google Desktop application to protect users from an unpatched design flaw in Microsoft Corp.'s Internet Explorer browser. The bug, which was discovered and reported by Israeli hacker Matan Gillon, provides malicious attackers with an easy way to use Google Desktop or other Internet-facing applications to covertly hijack user information. | ||

Just because more ppl are downloading Firefox, is not another reason to dump IE.

You're right! The 21 (http://secunia.com/product/11/) unpatched vulnerabilities (with no fixes in sight), patch cycles in excess of 217 days (http://www.eeye.com/html/research/upcoming/20050505.html) and general lack of support for standards is the reason to dump IE. Plus Firefox has some excellent extensions! "Running IE 7.0 Beta 1 on XP SP2 and IT JUST ROCK." Now if you were running IE 7.0 beta on Vista through a beta version of Virtual PC through a beta version of VMWare then we would all be impressed with your beta-ness :) |
