A small UK graphics software house is desperately trying to fight its corner against Microsoft by giving away its software to any Linux user prepared to help the company. Xara received some good news and some bad news in September. First Adobe acquired Macromedia, eliminating one of Xara's rivals and elevating the firm to number three in the UK vector graphics software league table. Then came the bad news, when Microsoft decided to muscle in on this increasingly important technology sector. | ||

Here we go again: Firm has no market share. Firm gets a "journalist" to make up a story to get head lines. The story is liberally sprinkle with the word that will surely get the company recognition - Microsoft.
Oops! The CEO tells the tale of his "wonderful" product and how it costs just a fraction of the price of its big competitor. There is only one problem with the story. The big competitor is Adobe not Microsoft. Really oops!! The CEO then tells the "journalist" that while his product is the best AND cheapest on the market today he can't give it away. Well, at least not until December when he intends to make it an open sore product . . . This story has about as much impact as Apple coming out with a media center product to rival Microsoft's just 12 months before Apple will change out processors making everything that runs on its operating system now run in emulation mode. Boy! the lights at Redmond must be burning through the night on the above two "threatening" stories. And, Ballmer is surely going into monkey dance overdrive! lol |

Well, TechLarry, so you've been loading up on Macs and on OS X compatible application software? How many times can Apple do this to you before you get it.
It seems that every few years you have to either throw out the computer, the software or both to run the Next version of whatever J.O.B.s is shoving at the consumer. Apparently, everyone (that is 98% of the public) except you has gotten it. lol |

| Xara... is that Xara as in Corel Xara, a product of the mid 90's? |
