| I agree I have been playing with one of these for a couple days and I can not get used to the mouse pointer thing. The pointer either shoots across the screen or moves too slowly to be of any use. I thought it was defective at first until i got the semi hang of it. |

It certainly takes practice, but good one's (i.e. the Synaptics that IBM uses) are really very good once you get used to them.
The older one's caused "Dented Finger Syndrome", but starting with the T40 IBM went to a better 'nubbie' that has a crown. It don't wear out like the older one's, and it's easier on the finger. Maybe it's because I've worked on thousands of ThinkPads over the last 8 years. While I still have an external mouse connected, I use the IBM UltraNav Keyboard on my desktop. It's basically an IBM ThinkPad Keyboard mounted in an external case, with a numeric keypad added. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=998073 is an example picture. The key feel is outstanding, just like the Thinkpad. In fact, I think the core keyboard module is the same part. TL |

| Well i have used lots of thinkpads and the pointer on my Remote Keyboard doesn't work anything like that. You have press pretty hard to get any movement. When the movenment comes it is super fast. I haven't even looked into adjustments yet as I have only had the time to play with the media centre a little bit since i got it. |

It must not be a Synaptics then. Maybe a cleap clone.
