Once again, a major industry case involving Microsoft is getting dirty as investigators rifle trashcans. Only this time, it's the trashcan in Windows. A document recovered from the Recycle Bin of ex-Microsoft vice president Kai Fu-Lee's PC has apparently revealed a belief that Microsoft could sue over Google's decision to hire Lee. | ||

i am not an attorney (thank god), but i do know something about non-compete clauses. they are very specific and can be legally binding if properly executed.
it appears that MS is doing what legal investigators do when they investigate securities fraud and terrorist activity. they are sifting through personal computer records for evidence of wrongdoing. i personally know several CEO’s who have had to wait out their non-compete clauses prior to taking a new position. this would seem to be one of these cases. if the gentleman waits out the year as specified in his contract i don’t see that MS has a case. this may be an intimidation tactic. |
