Windows Media Bonus Pack for XP Due This Week | |

At Streaming Media East 2001 this week, Microsoft will unveil a new add-on called the Windows Media Bonus Pack for Windows XP, which includes a number of new tools and enhancements for the Windows Media technologies in XP. The Bonus Pack will be available later this month as a free download from the Microsoft Web site; attendees of Streaming Media East can pick it up on CD-ROM this week at the show. The Windows Media Bonus Pack for Windows XP includes the following:

| Your statement is true, however you can go from MP3 128 KBPS tp a 64KBPS WMA file with about the same quality. Thats what they are talking about for the space savings. |

Does anyone have any more information about the MetaData update?
One thing that I have been wanting forever is edits that I make in Windows Media Player to actually be stored in the file and not in the Windows Media Player database. It sounds like they might have a tool that lets me do this hopefully!!! |

Grrr....
I am ashamed to admit that I bought the XP Plus! Pack. The most outright rip-off of all time. $40 for a 'commercial' CD full of Demoware. And now we have a Demo for the Demoware CD! LOL! TL |

| #7, WMA is cross platform as well, you simply just have to make an audio player that supports the codec, it doesn't matter what OS it's on. |

JaggedFlame - What WMA ID editor are you using? I was going to look into this, as I just finished reripping most of my music using WMP8, and there are a couple of things I would like to correct. I'm not happy going through windows media player to do this, and was going to look at finding a good one. If not, I might consider trying to write a tool to do it myself in C# to help learn the language.
Something I would like to do is go through recursively rename files based off a template and the tags found in the WMA file. i.e rename %songtitle%.wma to %track number%-%songtitle%.wma or some such. Tasks like that... |
