Walt Disney Home Video has finally announced the DVD release of The Incredibles. Set for release on March 15th in separate widescreen and full screen editions -- both of which will retail at $29.99 -- the DVD will also feature an English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround EX track. Extras on the first disc will include an audio commentary by director Brad Bird and producer John Walker, and a second commentary with several key Pixar animators from the film.
Extras on the second disc will include an all-new short film entitled "Jack-Jack Attack," deleted scenes including an alternate opening (each with a filmmaker introduction), some bloopers and outtakes, top secret files on all the supers and a making of featurette with writer/director Brad Bird. Also included will be a series of documentary shorts in which you can further explore the artistic and technical evolution of the film, a new never-before-seen 'lost' cartoon featuring Mr. Incredible, Frozone and their delightful rabbit sidekick, Mr. Skipperdoo, a commentary for that cartoon with Mr. Incredible and Frozone and several character interviews. Completing the package will be Pixar's Academy Award-nominated short film Boundin with an optional commentary, a "Who Is Bud Luckey?" feature on the creator of Boundin (who also designed Toy Story's Woody), an essay by Sarah Vowell (the voice of Violet Parr), as well as the original teasers and trailers for the hit movie.
