Every piece of Microsoft hardware I have owned was a piece of junk that failed within a year. Two Intellimouse Explorers, both shorted out. Sidewinder gamepad, stopped working for some reason. Digital Sound System 80 speakers, now dead (not that it mattered since they "discontinued" them and refused to update the software to work with anything later than Windows 98. I now have a Logitech MX510 and it beats the crap out of the Intellimouse; I will never be buying hardware with Microsoft's name on it again.
Oh, and Good Housekeeping...bwa-haha! |

| Skyfrog, your opinion is your business... but I think many people disagree with you. I've found the MSFT hardware on par with or better than anything I've ever used from Logitech, etc. |

| I've heard their keyboards are ok but I've never used one. I have a 1988 Zenith AT keyboard with real Alps keyswitches and no stupid Windows keys. I never plan on getting rid of it either. :) |

| I NEVER have problems with ANY MS Hardware that I have purchased. In fact, I even still use the DS80 Sound System that Microsoft branded from years ago. |

I've got an original MS Optical mouse, works perfectly.
Not to mention an original IntelliMouse, Wheel Mouse, and on and on... all still work just fine. |

MS hardware feels sturdier to me. Every piece of hardware they have made that I have used
has lasted and is still in use. We use it exclusively. Their MCE Remotes for the OEM channel smoke all others - better design and feel. Same is true of their keyboards - just heavier. I wish they'd make a killer conference camera that used a CMOS vice a CCD head and also had its own processor. We still use and scarf any Game Voice we can find - best conference device we've used. Their game controllers are the only ones the kids have not been able to break and we bought extra units when they discontinued them. Their force feedback II wheel and need for speed underground is a blast. Force Feedback II joy sticks and the PC version of Crimson skies over the LAN is still a favorite. I just haven't seen anything that comes close to what they build. We're looking forward to more variety in their finger print device readers and smart cards and hopefully, a commercial line of biometric security devices and systems. |

I really enjoy the MS keyboards and "older" mice.
I can't stand the optical mice. I like the way they feel and I like the way that they work, they just stop functioning to often for me. I shouldn't need to reseat a USB mouse every hour just to continue using it. That said, What in the hell do MS keyboards and mice have to do with "good housekeeping"? I haven't seen a product announcement for the Microsoft Intellimouse Optical Floor Waxer, has anyone else? |
