MSN and MediaBay Join Forces to Offer Audiobooks Through Newly Launched MSN Music Service | |

MSN and MediaBay Inc., a leader in spoken-word audio entertainment, today announced that they are working together to offer a wide range of audiobook titles via download to the millions of MSN® users in the United States. Among the audiobook titles MediaBay will exclusively offer on the MSN Music service (http://www.music.msn.com ) are those from the nation's largest audiobook publishers. This new relationship complements the already extensive MSN Music service catalog, which provides music fans with an easy, comprehensive service for discovering and downloading legal digital music. MSN Music offers simple sign-up, no-hassle purchasing and superior sound quality, either through a Web browser or the new Microsoft® Windows Media® Player 10. | ||

| The same MediaBay that was delisted fron the Nasdaq a few months ago? A leader? No, not a leader.... more like one of three or four companies gettign their butts kicked by Audible.com. |

As usual, you are completely wrong. Audible voluntarily moved from one market to the other. And they have since returned to the NASDAQ.

I did read the press release. Did you read the ones which follow? They were almost booted, appealed the decision, moved to OTC temporarily, and moved back. In fact, NASDAQ appears to treat them as if they never left:

Stunning logic... An announcement made Thursday is responsible for a week long decline beginning 3 days earlier... Uh huh... Maybe it has to do with the fact that the whole market has declined this week.
What I find amusing is that you think a company that experienced a downturn of 25% but which is still 3000% larger than MediaBay is afraid of MediaBay? Ha, ha. Yeah, MediaBay is on the rise! I read an article/analysis about Steve Jobs and Apple [or rather re-read], because I can see why Apple is both loved by its users and still not as successful as it could be. I re-read it, when I feel our own tug toward "innovation for the sake of innovation." <that was the point the article made about Jobs and Apple>. Sometimes Apple does that...well, often, actually.
There are some valueable lessons here - regarding when it is wise to innovate and when it is not. If the OS was the draw, then Apple's shareholders would drive initiatives to make it available from Apple for x86 hardware; however, they'd invite a lot of performance tests with Windows XP variants - with some Apple engineers not being happy about what the results would be. All that said, I do not see OS X as being that evolved - it simply is not as discoverable an OS as Windows XP is. No it hasn't. Why do you always have to be wrong? And I think they think it's been a very good choice to work with Apple. |
