The developing world is becoming an increasingly important market for computer and software makers. Analysts estimate that by the end of the decade, there will be more than 1 billion PC users, with many of the new adopters residing in nations such as China, India and Russia. Those markets are also becoming a battleground between the makers of proprietary software, such as Microsoft, and backers of open-source software. | ||

This is good. This will get them introduced to the technology of the internet.
Then when they get to a point where labor costs have increased and they need efficiency gains they can upgrade to Microsoft products. |

Ahh, interesting.
Parker writes - "more expensive because of the bribes you have to pay to corrupt UN employees and the children of the Secretary-General." You know. I'm curious if you have any evidence on that one? I wonder because I've seen some claims of this, but they all seem to source back to some papers that Ahmed Chalabi has in Iraq. As you probably are aware by now. Chalabi is the guy the Bush administration hired to find evidence of WMDs in Iraq, and then he got Punk'd instead as it turns out Chalabi works for Iranian intelligence. One thing Chalabi is known for is forging documents. So I'm hoping you have a source other than Chalabi for this claim. Otherwise I guess I question why you are making it. |
