Microsoft Corp. has officially released its security-oriented Windows XP update, Service Pack 2 (SP2), to manufacturing, and said the update would become available to IT managers, consumers and PC makers starting next week. But while Microsoft is urging upgrades as soon as possible, IT managers contacted by Techworld say they are in no hurry to install SP2, which amounts to a new operating system, they say. | ||

Oh dear. I'm running the SP2 install right now on my main desktop.
Granted, probably won't install it at work for a while. |

| #10. Nope. Don't care if Google uses Linux. Anyone can use whatever OS they want as long as it meets their needs. Windows is the most versatile OS for small business and consumer use. Large enterprises have their own issues. For what its worth, when Microsoft bought HotMaiL it took them years to move it to a Windows server. I respect Google's OS choice and appreciate their excellent ongoing effort to remain the best search engine. As I said, I respect their OS choice but I really don't care what THEY use. I, and my customers, use what is required to be effective and efficient. Right now that happens to be Windows XP, Windows Server 2000 and 2003, etc. Linux will not run business programs designed for Windows Server 2000 or 2003. What's the point in installing fake_windows on Linux to try to do so? |
