Microsoft's Windows XP Service Pack Two (SP2) is looking increasingly cursed after the release date appears to have slipped again - if only by a few days. The software giant had set itself an internal deadline of releasing the new service pack, designed to significantly improve the operating system's security, to manufacturers on 4 August. But the company said that it decided to hold off because it wanted to make final improvements to the code. | ||

Would it not be more embarrasing to release code that breaks machines? What would VNUNet be saying then?
Give me a break. Microsoft is doing a great job with XP SP2. They should take all the time they need to take to make as it as good as it can be. |

That's the nature of spin, RMD.
"Microsoft pushes back SP2 to ensure a quality release." isn't nearly as catchy a headline as "Microsoft programmers are too clueless to get it right." |

This news headline will quickly be forgotten. A headline that says SP2 breaks machines will not be.
That's what we will be hearing anyway, though, so we might as well get used to it. |

Gawd....
Rubbish. Pure Rubbish. Just once I'd like to see any single project that guys such as authored this article have ever undertaken from client engagement to sustaining the solution. Just one line of decent code, or one deployed network. Couching observations respectfully and in a sincere effort to bring to light what one might do, is one thing, but to simply persist in essentially worthless sniping is simply, "Bad Form." I hope I can here the crew at Microsoft in a chorus of, "Shaddup....." |
