It must be fun to walk through the Microsoft parking lot, reading the bumper stickers on the cars. Can you imagine what they must say? "Honk if you love monopolies." "Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean we're not out to get you." "My other car is a Hummer, too." But the lawyers' bumper stickers probably say, "You can't copyright an idea." Despite its admirable if largely unsuccessful recent efforts to pioneer product categories - wireless watches, wireless screens and so on - Microsoft's greatest hits have been clones of other people's successful work, including Windows (based on the Macintosh), Pocket PC (PalmPilot) and Internet Explorer (Netscape Navigator). | ||

| Once again David Pogue proves that he is NOT a journalist or reporter but instead is an anti-Microsoft biased writer of fiction. The first two paragraphs of his latest creation are pure fantasy and not befitting of the journalistic standards of the New York Times. He appears unable to review anything that MS does with any objectivity whatsoever. |

In that list of "greatest hits", he should include...
- making an AFFORDABLE computer (unlike Apple) - providing technologies to the masses (unlike Apple) - creating a SUSTAINABLE business model (unlike Apple) - setting the bar for CONTINUOUS product improvement (unlike PALM) etc. |

I forgive you for your ignorance. --------------------- - creating a SUSTAINABLE business model < We're wondering if MS can sustain their < business model right now... It seems to < be the theme lately. All those MS Middle < Age articles. I hope you realize that middle age and "mature" companies are the bread and butter of the business world. That description is not a negative. It opens the stock up to as many investors, as those that only invest in the edge of tech. Are you in college yet? Ever studied any econ or the world in general? |
