Apple Computer was widely expected to launch a new version of its iMac personal computer at a technology conference this week.
However, the company came to the World Wide Developers Conference empty-handed for observers who had hoped to see another big announcement in the keynote address by Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple (AAPL).
In morning trading on Tuesday, Apple shares dropped 76 cents, or 2.3 percent, to $31.73 one day after Jobs' appearance. Speculation had been high that Apple would show off either a remodeled, or upgraded, version of the iMac or the iPod digital music player.
