Microsoft Releases Source Code on SourceForge | |

On Monday, Microsoft released some of its code under an open-source license, and posted it on SourceForge, the open-source code repository. To date, Microsoft has made its source code available under a variety of licensing mechanisms, all under its "shared source" umbrella. But until today, the company had not released code under what is commonly considered a true open-source license. | ||

| I wish MS or someone like them would make a .NET friendly SourceForge, or at least make Workspaces more usable. |

They do seem to be working on Workspaces, they just released another version about 3 weeks ago which included some major improvements to the bug tracking.
I've been trying to use it, but it's just too slow to handle source checkin/checkout. I've since moved to using Sourcegear Vault on my home servers. I don't like Sourceforge's user interface. I've been tasked with creating something internal to our company of that nature. Basically a web frontend to a centralized build service, maintaining SCM, maintaining releases, that sort of thing. There are a variety of options out there, but they only seem to do parts. I'd like to see something like what the Mozilla team has created. |

| ClosedStandards - I wouldn't really call either of them innovative. They're just front ends to already existing and documented processes. I just pointed to them as well known examples of what we're trying to accomplish. |
