ActiveWin.com is in the process of revamping our site. Now that we have upgraded our hardware, we are beginning the process of upgrading how we operate as a site. The most important element of the site is news. That is why we are coming to you, asking what you want. We are dedicated to bringing you the latest Microsoft/Windows news and developments, but we want to know if you want us to increase our coverage of other, non-Microsoft news. Not to be obnoxious, but duh...
ActiveWIN.... I like the site as it is (Windows/MS focused), but would like to see more non-MS/PC general news. So make it another site/link like ActiveXbox, ActiveMac, etc. Good idea to expand coverage, but don't sacrifice what made you successful in the first place. |

Just make sure you implement a sound editorial review process. It wasn't long ago when there didn't seem to be any control and a pile of slashdot-like articles got posted as well as a pile of Mac articles. Keep it professional.
And while you are at it, ditch the pop-up ads. They are being blocked by most of us anyways. |

| A good compromise would be to keep the news Windows-related. I don't think anyone wants microsoft-only news. Readers come here because they are in a Windows shop and they want relevent information without Linux, Mac, Unix, Oracle, Sun, Bea, and all the other vendor's stuff polluting their screens. |

| It finally nice to see Activewin lean toward a pro microsoft attitude when posting news. Until recently, this has been a more pro linux or "Microsoft is Doomed!!!" attitude. |

You will ditch the popups, sooner or later. Reason? SP2 of Windows XP has built in popup blocking, as Netscape and Mozilla have had for months now. |

#16, When an OS has a small group of very devouted followers, it tends to not have all that many bad news articles about it simply because it doesn't have many people who don't like it. I think Byron does post fairly. I've been accused to posting too much Linux stuff, and I don't care either way for Linux. It's just whatever is out there.
And in any case, Byron does a lot for this site and you do nothing; you should show some respect. |
