Brian has posted his review of Microsoft MN-740 Wireless G Xbox Adapter. Here is an excerpt: Signing on to Xbox Live was instant, and access to XSN Sports was uninterrupted. Voice quality was rated excellent in my opinion. I noticed that it felt like I was still hardwired into my living room wall. One thing I noticed that I had never experienced when I was hardwired was an echo of my voice when attempting to talk to my fellow gamer. They were unable to hear me for the first 30 seconds of the game during our golf tournaments. When speaking, I would hear myself only. Once about 30 seconds passed by, conversation was normal. I can’t determine if this was related to Xbox Live or the new adapter during the time of testing. | ||

Actually, it is not dumb. In fact, it is encouraged to review these items for cross compatibility between b and g. That is one thing that they (MS) market with this item since they do not offer a b Wirless Adapter for the Xbox.
And since my performance was as good as my hardwired performance (which is running at 100mbs), then running at the quoted 54mbs wouldn't have tainted/improved my review or performance figures. BUY me a 802.11g base station and I WILL review it. :-) |
