The virus works by getting infected computers to send hundreds of thousands of requests for the site per minute, in hopes of crippling it. Mr. Dee, are you for real?
SCO can't run in place, nevermind run a server (no matter what platform). Their idiocy has nothing to do with anything. Nor does the fact that the attack was directed at them (experts feel they can track its origin somewhere within Russia and feel that its purpose was harvesting email addresses for spamming, the DoS attack was just a diversion). However, this was a WINDOWS virus. It had NO effect on Unix or Linux or any other OS. |
